CHEAT MY MONEY!!!!
My parents went down to JB this morning to settle some issues, & knowing my mom, she's a tad concern about our food. Whether we will starve or not. Anyway, my youth counsellor was nice enough to take us out for dinner, and that sort of gave some kind of relief to my mom. No need to stock the fridge as though we are at war. Not knowing where to go, we decided to head to the hottest and most dikunjungi place in the whole of Seremban: Jusco. Just directly opposite my neighbourhood.
We ordered a 4-persons meal at Pizza Hut that serves: 1 large pasta, 1 regular pasta, 1 regular pan pizza, 4 drinks, 4 soups, 1 cheesy sticks for RM 39.90 minus tax and stuff. While happily waiting for the food to come and freezing all our fingers off, I was thinking of the hot mushroom soup and at least warm pizza to keep me from devouring the tabasco sauce and pepper. Oh ya, they don't let us take our own mushroom soup anymore. Call it courtesy or whatever it is, I think it's a plot to not let our Malaysian nature of wanting to scoop-full-full mentality to bulldoze their whole stock of mushroom soup. Tau- tau lar, Malaysians take mushroom soup at Pizza Hut, must fill the bowl TO THE BRIM. If spill onto the little saucer also never mind, cause after that can take the saucer back to the table and still lick from it, or pour it back into the bowl. Whatever it is, we don't waste. Didn't our parents taught us well???
The pastas came. I looked at the pastas, I looked at the waiter who served us. He didn't see my unbelievably round eyes and almost dropping jaw. We ordered 1 large pasta and 1 regular pasta. Yup. I was sure of that, cause I told my bro to get me the menu so that I could double check whether we got the right thing. The large pasta, was so smallllll til its the same size as the regular pasta. The only difference was, the plates. One was bigger, another smaller. HELLO!!!! The menu said big pasta, and small pasta; not big-plate pasta and small-plate pasta. The portion was the same, my bro tried it by putting it into a smaller plate. And the pastas were cold!!! So were the cheesy sticks!! And they weren't even cheesy. CHEAT MY MONEY!!!!!
Almost made a ruckus about it, decided against since I wanted to have a quiet dinner without additional spit + a few more strands of pasta on my already pathetic pasta. So tempted to complain and get myself bar from Pizza Hut. Cheat my money.... Ppl, if you don't wanna be shortchanged, don't eat at Seremban's Jusco's Pizza Hut.
Even the arcade also wanna cheat my money. Got 6 tokens to play Virtual Cop 3. Those guns can't shoot for nuts! Din't continue after we dieded. Had to find people to sell the tokens also. Some people thought we were trying to push some direct selling stuff, and started walking away fast. I had to say, "Encik, encik, encik (running away), saya tak habis token saya lar, encik nak beli tak?" (Baru he stopped). Sigh, bukannya tak biasa malukan diri in public. Always happened in Penang. What to do, sometimes you have to put ourselves out in the open, susceptible to shame and embarassment, to try achieving something we hope to get. Sometimes, the effort stops at trying, but nevertheless, we tried. And the embarassment, well, what does not kill us will only makes us stronger. Amen.

fishing
the fishing bug has snagged me. all of a sudden, i decided to buy a set of fishing tools and explore the coast of penang island. my enthusiasm was also shared by u-jean. seeing a bunch of people just fishing off queensbay did make me wonder how it felt like to snag a fish. i remembered a long time ago my dad bought for my sister and i a retractable fishing rod, and we went fishing with our youth group, at a fish farm. the first sight that greeted me was sacks and sacks of chicken guts, heads and liver. and a shed with a huge machine. later i found out that the keepers would take these sacks of chicken whatevers, grind it through the huge machine, and feed it to the fish in mushy mushy bitsy pieces. ewww.... and im gonna fish there. but anyway, not that im gonna eat the fish i catch, that is if i manage to catch any. i was just thrilled on my first fishing trip. i did catch a fish, my dad helped me to reel it up. but from that trip, all i remembered about fishing now is how to reel the line in, the rest i have already forgotten.
since it was u-jean's birthday on 14 june, i decided to treat her to a fishing trip at teluk tempoyak, at batu maung. i reasoned that the fish from that area can be eaten because there are 2 seafood restaurants there, and i've eaten in one of them once. and the person who brought me there told me that the seafood there was fresh from the sea. anyway, we had to walk this long jetty to reach a rectangular platform which juts out at sea. we met a few fishing friends there, one of them is Muneh. seeing that we were so mentah in fishing, line also cannot cast properly, and wrongly at first, they decided to give us a crash course and tip us on how to do it the right way. after a while, we got the hang of it and they started ejeking us whenever we cast the line: "eh, dah terror lar!". interesting thing was, we caught a fish, but it was a line reeled around a plastic bottle that did the trick. the rod did not reap any fish on that day. anyway, our birthday girl caught that sole fish with the plastic bottle. so, happy birthday ujean! your present is a fish!
we went a second time last sunday, and this time we were prepared with our tools and stuff. it was more fruitful this time as we managed to get 3 fish that can be eaten, 2 puffer fish and a crab. we stayed till about 8pm, it was fun as the tides were high and we had the same company we had when we went there the first time. haha! every week now i look forward to fishing, staring out into sea and feel the excitement of having the fish hook itself onto our bait. the pleasure comes in the reeling part.
but of course, the best part i enjoyed was.. dissecting and cleaning the fish. brings back memories of me dissecting my rat during form6. call me a sadist and heartless person. but i enjoyed it. savouring the sight of my dissected producted. hahahaha!!!
